‘The Liability’ – Film Thoughts/Review

British crime black comedy ‘THE LIABILITY’ sees Jack O’Connell (who is very much a rising star after good performances in ‘Harry Brown’ and ‘Eden Lake’) learning to the ropes to be a hit-man as played by Tim Roth (also producing here). Co -starring Tallulah Riley, Peter Mullen and ‘Fish Tank’s Kierston Wareing this is a decent attempted black-comedy. Mixing with visual beats of that of ‘Drive’ to Tarantino’s early work, there is enough here to keep you enthralled for its 87minute running time. The ending to some might be a little squiffy minded, but the combination of a doleful Roth, vengeful Riley and insanely charismatic O’Connell (makes sense with him being the star role in ‘300: Rise of a Empire’ and the new Angelina Jolie directed film all out in 2014), this makes it lively enough to watch.
